Throttle Body: Removal

NOTE:
Whenever the turbocharger air intake system components are removed, always cover the open ports to protect them from debris. It is important that no foreign material enter the system. The turbocharger compressor vanes are susceptible to damage from even small particles. All of the components should be inspected and cleaned, if needed, prior to installation or reassembly.
NOTE:
During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.
- Remove the engine appearance cover.
- Loosen the charge air cooler inlet tube clamp and then disconnect the charge air cooler inlet tube.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the underbody shield retainers and the underbody shield.
- Position the charge air cooler inlet tube out of the way.

- Disconnect the throttle body (TB) electrical connector, detach the wire harness from the retaining clip.
- Remove the bolts and the throttle body (TB).
