High-Pressure Fuel Pump Drive Unit: Installation

NOTE: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths.

Material

: Motorcraft® Metal Surface Prep Wipes / ZC-31-B

NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

NOTE: The component must be installed within 5 minutes of applying the sealant.

Apply 3 mm thick sealant to the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit as indicated.

Material

: Motorcraft® Gasket Maker / TA-16 (WSK-M2G348-A5)

Install the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit, then install and tighten the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit bolts.
Torque

: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Install the valve cover. Refer to: VALVE COVER
