Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud: Removal

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this article, refer to Safety Warnings in GENERAL INFORMATION (EXCEPT ELECTRIC) . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the wiring harness retainer.

1. Using a suitable tool release the upper tabs.
2. Position the cooling fan motor and shroud upward.

NOTE: If equipped.

Remove the retainers and the shield.

Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.

Remove the pin-type retainers, the screws and the lower radiator air deflector.

Detach the electrical connectors and the wiring harness retainer from the lower radiator support.

Loosen the clamps and remove the CAC pipe.
Torque

: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

1. NOTE: If equipped, a new rivet nut must be installed during installation.
  
  If equipped, remove the rivet using a drill bit.
2. Remove the bolts and the lower radiator support.
  Torque
  
  : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
