Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the wiring harness retainer.

- Using a suitable tool release the upper tabs.
- Position the cooling fan motor and shroud upward.

NOTE: If equipped.
Remove the retainers and the shield.

NOTE: If equipped.
Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.
- Remove the pin-type retainers, the screws and the lower radiator air deflector.
- Detach the electrical connectors and the wiring harness retainer from the lower radiator support.
- Loosen the clamps and remove the CAC pipe.
Torque
: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

NOTE: If equipped, a new rivet nut must be installed during installation.
If equipped, remove the rivet using a drill bit.
- Remove the bolts and the lower radiator support.
Torque
: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

- Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
