Fuel System 

Overview 

The fuel system consist of:

• a Closed Loop Pressure Control System (CLPCS).
• a standard fuel tank.
• fuel, vapor and brake tubes in an integrated bundle assembly attached to the underside of the vehicle by retaining clips.
• a FTP sensor (part of the fuel vapor tube assembly).
• a lifetime fuel filter (serviced as part of the FP module) (if equipped).
• a replaceable external in-line fuel filter (if equipped).
• a FP module that supplies fuel under pressure to the high pressure FP.
• a serviceable fuel level sender mounted on the FP module.
• an Easy Fuel™ fuel tank filler pipe assembly, which cannot be modified in any way and is serviced only by the installation of a new fuel tank filler pipe assembly.
• a supplemental refueling adapter located in the spare tire compartment.

FP Shut-off Feature 

The event notification feature provides other vehicle subsystems with information pertaining to restraint system deployment or fuel cutoff status. When an impact occurs which exceeds a pre-determined threshold, the RCM sends a signal on a dedicated circuit to the BCM. The BCM sends a signal on a second hardwired circuit to the PCM, which initiates fuel cutoff and disables the fuel system.

After the fuel system is disabled, the vehicle can be re-started after carrying out the following steps:

• Turn the ignition ON and wait 10 seconds.
• Turn the ignition OFF.
• Turn the ignition ON.
• Turn the ignition OFF.
• Turn the ignition ON.
