Gearshift Cables - 6-Speed Manual Transmission - MMT6: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

If equipped with a 2.0L EcoBoost, remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
If equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost, remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
Disconnect the gearshift cables from the transmission.

With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.

Remove the retainers and position the heat shield rearward.

Disconnect the gearshift cables from the underbody clip.

Using special tool, release the gearshift boot and position it aside. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

Remove the RH floor console lower trim panel retainer cover. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

Remove and discard the pushpin, release the clips and remove the RH floor console lower trim panel.

Position the carpet out of the way.

Remove the bolt and position the wiring harness retainer aside.
