Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The electric coolant pump is an electric coolant pump is controlled by the PCM and provides additional engine cooling only when the engine reaches a critical temperature during hot soak conditions. This can occur if the engine has been operated at a high load for a long time and is then parked immediately with the engine shut off. This can lead to an excessive build-up of heat around the engine and turbocharger. The PCM monitors the electric coolant pump and circuits for faults setting a DTC. The following DTCs will not illuminate the MIL.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

| P2601 | Coolant Pump "A" Control Circuit Performance/Stuck Off | This DTC sets when the PCM senses any of the following conditions: Dry-Run leads to electric coolant pump running without resistance Over Temperature Over/Under Voltage Impeller Stall Impeller Speed below minimum speed Internal Error |
| P2602 | Coolant Pump "A" Control Circuit Low | This DTC sets when the PCM senses low voltage on the PWM circuit. |
| P2603 | Coolant Pump "A" Control Circuit High | This DTC sets when the PCM senses high voltage on the PWM circuit. |

- Low coolant or air in the coolant system
- Electric coolant pump
