Output Shaft: Disassembly

NOTE: Only loosely attach the Bearing Separator to avoid damaging the synchronizer ring.
Remove reverse gear and the rear roller bearing. Use the General Equipment: Bearing Separator Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press
- Remove the reverse gear bearing and synchronizer ring. Remove and discard the snap ring and remove the 5th/reverse synchronizer assembly.

NOTE: The detent balls are spring-loaded. Take care when removing the selector ring from the synchronizer hub.NOTE: Mark the installed position of the selector ring.
Disassemble the following items:
- Selector ring
- Synchronizer body
- Compression springs
- Blocker bars
- Detent balls
- Remove the 5th gear synchronizer ring, 5th gear and the 5th gear roller bearing. Remove the 4th gear snap ring.
- Remove 4th gear. Use the General Equipment: Bearing Separator Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press
- Using a heat gun, heat 2nd and 3rd gear and remove 2nd and 3rd gear. Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press Use the General Equipment: Bearing Separator Use the General Equipment: Hot Air Gun
- Remove 2nd gear synchronizer rings and the 2nd gear bearing. Remove the snap ring and remove the 1st/2nd gear synchronizer assembly.

- Synchronizer body
- Compression springs
- Compression springs
- Detent balls
- Remove 1st gear synchronizer rings, remove 1st gear and remove the 1st gear bearing.
- Remove the front output shaft roller bearing. Use the General Equipment: Bearing Separator Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press
