Disassembly And Assembly Of Subassemblies: Piston: Assembly

  1. NOTE: Align the piston-to-connecting rod orientation marks made during disassembly.

    Install the piston to the connecting rod.

  2. Apply the specified lubricant to the specified component.

    Material

    : Motorcraft® SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil / XO-5W30-QSP (WSS-M2C946-A)

  3. Install the new piston pin retainers.

  4. Apply the specified lubricant to the specified component.

    Material

    : Motorcraft® SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil / XO-5W30-QSP (WSS-M2C946-A)

  5. NOTE: Align the piston rings on the piston.

    1. Upper oil control segment ring gap location.
    2. Oil control spacer gap location.
    3. Lower oil control segment ring gap location.
