Engine Front Cover: Installation

Install a new gasket.

NOTE: The component must be installed within 10 minutes of applying the sealant.

Apply beads of silicone sealant that are 4 mm (0.157 in) and 6 mm (0.236 in) as shown in the graphic.

Install the engine front cover, bolts and tighten in the sequence shown.

Install Special Service Tool: 303-1606 Locking Tool, Variable Camshaft Timing.

Tighten the RH engine mount studs.

2. Install the RH engine mount bolts finger-tight.

Install the following items:
1. Refer to: Generator - 1.0L EcoBoost (92kW/125PS) .
2. Refer to: Catalytic Converter .
3. Refer to: Valve Cover .
4. Refer to: Crankshaft Front Seal .
NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

Remove the drain plug, drain engine oil and install drain plug. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment

Torque

: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Remove and discard the engine oil filter.

Install a new engine oil filter.
