Crankshaft Rear Seal: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

NOTE: New crankshaft rear seal carriers are supplied with an alignment sleeve which must be removed after installation.

Install the rear crankshaft seal and the bolts in sequence shown.

Torque

: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Install the flywheel or flexplate. Refer to: Flywheel . Refer to: Flexplate .
Remove Special Service Tool: 303-F072 Support Bar, Engine.

- Install the air cleaner outlet pipe assembly and the nuts. Tighten the air cleaner outlet pipe clamps.
  Torque
  
  :1: 97 lb.in (11 Nm) 2: 35 lb.in (4 Nm)
- Connect the vacuum tube to air outlet pipe. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Connect the fuel evaporative tube quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Connect the PCV coupling.
- Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector.

Install the following items:
1. Refer to: Cowl Panel Grille .
2. Refer to: Oil Pan .
