    • Press the START/STOP button.

Does the ignition state change out of OFF?

    Yes  GO to  AL8.
No  DIAGNOSE the PATS. REFER to Anti-Theft Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) .
  8. AL8 CHECK THE PASSIVE KEY BATTERY

    • Remove the IKT battery. Refer to the Owner Guide for battery removal instructions.
    • Do not clean off any grease from the battery terminals on the back surface of the circuit board.
    • Verify the correct battery is used (CR2032).
    • Remove the passive key battery and measure the voltage.

Is the voltage greater than 2.5 volts?

Yes  REPLACE the suspect passive key. PROGRAM the new passive key. REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment in Anti-Theft Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) .
No  INSTALL a new battery (make sure the battery is seated correctly). DO NOT reprogram the passive key (weak or dead batteries do not erase passive keys from memory).
  9. AL9 CHECK FOR COMMUNICATION WITH THE RADIO TRANSCEIVER MODULE (RTM)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the network test.

Does the Radio Transceiver Module (RTM) pass the network test?

    Yes  GO to  AL10.
No  DIAGNOSE the Radio Transceiver Module (RTM) not responding to the scan tool. REFER to Module Communications Network .
