Pinpoint Test Y : The Power Seat Is Inoperative - Third Row Power-Fold, Left And Right Seats

- Y1 CHECK FOR BCM DTCs
- Ignition ON.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test - BCM.
Are any BCM DTCs present?
Yes If DTC B1317:11, VERIFY BCM fuse 18 (10A) is OK. If OK, GO to Y2. If not OK, REFER to the OEM Electrical Wiring Diagram Introduction to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. if DTC B1317:15, GO to Y4.For all other BCM DTCs, REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules . No GO to Y6. - Y2 CHECK THE BCM OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: BCM C2280C.
- Disconnect: Third Row Seat Control Switch C3199.
- Disconnect: PFSM C3677C.
- Measure the resistance
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C3677C-9 CPS48 (BU) - Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to Y3. No REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation. - Y3 CHECK THE BCM OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE
- Connect: Third Row Seat Control Switch C3199.
- Connect: BCM C2280C.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C3677C-9 CPS48 (BU) - Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
Yes CONNECT PFSM C3677C. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. REPEAT the self-test. If DTC B1317:11 returns, INSTALL a new PFSM. REFER to Power-Fold Seat Module (PFSM) . No CONNECT PFSM C3677C. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. REPEAT the self-test. If DTC B1317:11 returns, BCM Hardware Testing . - Y4 CHECK THE BCM OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: BCM C2280C.
- Disconnect: Third Row Seat Control Switch C3199.
- Disconnect: PFSM C3677C.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C3677C-9 CPS48 (BU) - Ground
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation. No GO to Y5. - Y5 CHECK THE BCM OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure the resistance
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C3677C-9 CPS48 (BU) C2280C-24 CPS48 (BU)
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes INSTALL a new PFSM. REFER to Power-Fold Seat Module (PFSM) . No REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation. - Y6 CHECK FOR BATTERY VOLTAGE TO THE PFSM
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: PFSM C3677A.
- Measure the voltage
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C3677A-1 SBB70 (BN/RD) - Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
Yes GO to Y7. No VERIFY BJB fuse 70 (30A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. If not OK, REFER to the OEM Electrical Wiring Diagram Introduction to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. - Y7 CHECK THE BCM OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE
- Disconnect: PFSM C3677C.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C3677C-9 CPS48 (BU) - Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
Yes GO to Y8. No REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. - Y8 CHECK THE PFSM GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure the resistance
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C3677A-5 GD151 (BK/GN) - Ground
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to Y9. No REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. - Y9 CHECK THE THIRD ROW SEAT CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Disconnect: Third Row Seat Control Switch C3199.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C3677C-14 CPSA1 (WH/GN) - Ground C3677C-4 RPSB2 (BN) - Ground
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the circuit in question. TEST the system for normal operation. No GO to Y10. - Y10 CHECK THE THIRD ROW SEAT CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure the resistance
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C3677C-14 CPSA1 (WH/GN) - Ground C3677C-4 RPSB2 (BN) - Ground
Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to Y11. No REPAIR the circuit in question. TEST the system for normal operation. - Y11 CHECK THE THIRD ROW SEAT CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C3677C-14 CPSA1 (WH/GN) C3199-5 CPSA1 (WH/GN) C3677C-4 RPSB2 (BN) C3199-4 RPSB2 (BN)
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to Y12. No REPAIR the circuit in question. TEST the system for normal operation. - Measure the resistance
between:
- Y12 CHECK THE THIRD ROW SEAT CONTROL SWITCH
- Connect: Third Row Seat Control Switch C3199.
- Connect an ohmmeter between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C3677C-14 CPSA1 (WH/GN) C3677C-4 RPSB2 (BN)
- Measure the resistance
while pressing and holding each button as indicated in the table below:
Third Row Seat Control Switch Resistance All buttons at rest 7, 425-7, 575 ohms RH button 213-217 ohms LH and RH button 1, 032-1, 052 ohms LH button 617-630 ohms
Are the resistances within the limits indicated?
Yes INSTALL a new PFSM. REFER to Power-Fold Seat Module (PFSM) . TEST the system for normal operation. No INSTALL a new third row seat control switch. REFER to Seat Control Switch - Third Row . TEST the system for normal operation.
