Rear Brake Caliper Anchor Plate - RS: Removal

NOTE: Steps in the removal procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
  2. Remove the brake caliper spring.

  3. NOTE: Do not pry in the caliper sight hole to retract the pistons as this can damage the pistons and boots.
    NOTE: Do not allow the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose can occur.
    NOTE: Make sure that new bolts are installed.

    1. Remove the caps.
    2. Remove the brake caliper guide pin bolts.

      Torque

      : 20 lb.ft (27 Nm)

    3. Position aside the brake caliper.

  4. Remove the brake pads.

  5. NOTE: Make sure that new bolts are installed.

    Remove the bolts and the brake caliper anchor plate.

    Torque

    :Stage 1: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm) Stage 2: 90°
