Pinpoint Test BC : The Turn Signal On Warning Chime Is Inoperative

  1. BC1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.

    Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds? 

    Yes  GO to  BC2
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test A 

  2. BC2 CHECK THE TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR OPERATION

    • Place the turn signal in the LH or RH turn position and monitor the turn indicator operation.

    Do the turn indicators operate correctly? 

    Yes  GO to  BC3
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test U 

  3. BC3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to DTC Chart: IPC . Refer to IPC GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING
