Pinpoint Test Al : An AWD (All-Wheel Drive) Message Is Never Or Always Displayed (RS Only)

  1. AL1 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCS FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Ignition ON.

    • Close all doors, the hood and the liftgate.

    • Clear all message center warnings by pressing the OK button for each warning present.

    • Monitor the driver door ajar warning message display with the driver door open and with the driver door is closed.

    • Open and close the driver door.

    Does the driver door ajar message display with the driver door open and turn off when the driver door is closed? 

    Yes  GO to  AL2
    No  Refer to IPC GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING

  2. AL2 RETRIEVE AND RECORD THE DTCS FROM THE AWD (ALL-WHEEL DRIVE) MODULE SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the AWD module self-test.

    Are any AWD module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Four-Wheel Drive Systems .
    No  GO to  AL3

  3. AL3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCS FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to DTC Chart: IPC 
    No  DIAGNOSE the AWD system. REFER to: Four-Wheel Drive Systems .
