Pinpoint Test AF : The Compass Display Is Inoperative (With Touchscreen Audio): Notes

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

See Compass Display. REFER to: Warning Chimes - System Operation and Component Description .

If the compass direction message is missing or invalid for 5 seconds or less, the compass displays the last vehicle direction based upon the last known good compass display message received.

If the compass direction message is invalid or missing for more than 5 seconds, the IPC sets DTC U0140:00 and defaults the display to all dashes (---).
