Pinpoint Test B : A Virtual Gauge Is Inoperative (High-Level IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) Only)
- B1 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
- Check for recorded Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) No For the engine temperature gauge or engine oil pressure gauge, GO to B3 For the fuel gauge, GO to Pinpoint Test C For the transmission temperature gauge or turbo boost gauge, GO to B2 - B2 VERIFY THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) IS SET TO DISPLAY THE GAUGE

NOTE: The IPC and message center navigation can be found in the Owner's Literature.
Using the message center controls, make sure the IPC is set to display the gauge in question.
Is the IPC set to display the gauge?
Yes GO to B3 No The IPC was not set to display the gauge in question. The virtual gauge is operating correctly. -
- B3 PERFORM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCM self-test.
- Check for recorded Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Electronic Engine Controls . No GO to B4 - B4 PERFORM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
- Check for recorded Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the BCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) . No GO to B5 - B5 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Communications Network . No Refer to IPC GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING
