Particulate Matter Sensor: Removal

- 1.NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.NOTE: The particulate matter module is serviced as an assembly with the particulate matter sensor.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- 2.NOTE: A 6 point flair nut crow's foot wrench (i.e. Snap-on tool FRH-300S or equivalent) must be used to torque out cold sensor. Exceeding to no more than 100 Nm. If the sensor can not be removed, heat the stainless steel boss to 392°F using a heat gun (Rotunda tool 300-MASHG501A or equivalent) or a miniductor (Rotunda tool IDIMD-700 or equivalent). Do not apply direct heat to the sensor as this will cause damage to the sensor.NOTE: Do not apply open flame.NOTE: Verify temperature has been reached with an infrared thermometer (Rotunda tool MSC52224-C or equivalent).
Loosen the Particulate Matter sensor using a 6 point flair nut crow's foot wrench (i.e. Snap-on tool FRH-300S or equivalent).

Remove the pushpin and the bolts from the Particulate Matter module mounting bracket and remove from the frame.Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
