Fuel System Pressure Release

Pressure release

  NOTE: The fuel pump relay fuse is located in the EJB, location F24.

  Remove the fuel injection pump fuse F24.

  NOTE: Once the fuse is removed, it may take several minutes before the engine stalls.

  Start the engine and allow the engine to idle until it stalls.

  Crank the engine an additional 20 seconds to make sure the fuel system pressure has been released.

• 4.
  
  Turn the ignition switch to the off position.

• 5.
  
  When the fuel system service is complete, install the fuel injection pump fuse.

• 6.
  
  
  NOTE: It may take more than one key cycle to pressurize the fuel system.

  Cycle the ignition key and wait 3 seconds to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks before starting the engine.

  When service on the fuel system is complete, start the engine and check for leaks.
