Front Camber and Caster Adjustment

Adjustment
- Using alignment equipment and the manufacturer's instructions, measure the camber settings. Use the General Equipment: Wheel Alignment System
- On both sides. Remove the windshield wiper motor. Refer to: Rear Window Wiper Motor - Vehicles With: Manual Liftgate .
- On both sides. Remove the strut upper bolts.
- Remove the cowl extension to cowl panel mounting bolts.

NOTE: The strut upper bolts must be temporarily installed prior to loosening the strut rod nut.
On both sides. Install the strut upper bolts prior to loosening the strut rod nut.

NOTE: By loosening the strut rod nut and either pushing the strut inboard or pulling it outboard the camber can be adjusted by approximately 0.25 degrees.
- To make a negative camber adjustment, loosen the strut rod nut and push the strut inboard.
- To make a positive camber adjustment, loosen the strut rod nut and pull the strut outboard.
Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)
- On both sides. Remove the strut upper bolts.
- Install the cowl extension to cowl panel mounting bolts.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
- On both sides. Install the strut upper bolts.
Torque: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)
- On both sides. Install the windshield wiper motor. Refer to: Rear Window Wiper Motor - Vehicles With: Manual Liftgate .
- To make a positive camber adjustment, pull the strut outboard and loosen the wheel knuckle-to-strut bolt with the vehicle supported by the subframe. This allows the strut to sit on the wheel knuckle-to-strut bolt.
Torque:
Stage 1: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)
Stage 2: 180 °
- To make a negative camber adjustment, push the strut inboard and loosen the wheel knuckle-to-strut bolt with the weight of the vehicle on the wheel and tire. This allows the weight of the strut to fully lift up on the wheel knuckle-to-strut bolt.
Torque:
Stage 1: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)
Stage 2: 180 °
- Check and if necessary, adjust front toe. Refer to: Front Toe Adjustment .

NOTE:
Cross Camber Adjustment
- Using alignment equipment and the manufacturer's instructions, measure the camber settings. Use the General Equipment: Wheel Alignment System
- Support the subframe with transmission jack. Use the General Equipment: Transmission Jack
- Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.
- Loosen the bolts. Loosen:: 720-1080 °
- Remove and discard the bolts.

NOTE: Shifting the subframe towards the passenger side increases the driver side camber and decreases the passenger side camber. Shifting the subframe towards the driver side increases the passenger side camber and decreases the driver side camber.
Adjust the camber by shifting the subframe to LH and RH.
- Install the bolts.
Torque:
1: 103 lb.ft (140 Nm)
2: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)
1: 180 °
- Check and if necessary, adjust front toe. Refer to: Front Toe Adjustment .

Cross Caster Adjustment
- Using alignment equipment and the manufacturer's instructions, measure the camber settings. Use the General Equipment: Wheel Alignment System
- Support the subframe with transmission jack. Use the General Equipment: Transmission Jack

- Loosen the bolts. Loosen: 1: 720-1080 °
- Remove and discard the bolts.

NOTE: Shifting the subframe forward increases the caster. Shifting the subframe rearward decreases the caster.
Adjust the caster by shifting the subframe forward and rearward.
- Install the bolts.
Torque:
1: 103 lb.ft (140 Nm)
2: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)
1: 180 °
- Check and if necessary, adjust front toe. Refer to: Front Toe Adjustment .
