Fuel Tank Draining

Draining 

  1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, refer to Safety Warnings in General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

    Refer to: Gasoline and Gasoline-Ethanol Fuel Systems Health and Safety Precautions .

  2. NOTE: Do not remove the hose clamp at the filler neck hose to fuel tank connection. The plastic tank is susceptible to damage with over torquing and or multiple re-torques.
  3. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  4. NOTE: The supplement refueling adapter is located in the luggage compartment. Install the supplemental refueling adapter and a length of semi-rigid fuel drain tube into the Easy Fuel ™ (capless) fuel tank filler pipe. Push the drain tube to the bottom of the filler neck to open the flapper door at the fuel tank inlet
  5. Attach the Fuel Storage Tanker to the fuel drain hose and drain as much fuel as possible from the Easy Fuel ™ (capless) fuel tank filler pipe, lowering the fuel level below the fuel tank inlet spout. Use Special Service Tool: 310-102 Fuel Draining Hose., 292-00004 Fuel Tanker 100 GPM.
