Pinpoint Test E : The Odometer Is Inoperative: Notes
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
See Odometer. Refer to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - System Operation and Component Description .
If the wheel rotation count message is missing for 2 seconds or less, the IPC defaults the odometer to the last display, based upon the last known good odometer rolling count message.
If the BCM does not receive the wheel rotation count message from the ABS module for longer than 2 seconds, the BCM and the IPC set DTC U0121:00 and the IPC defaults the odometer display to all dashes (-----).
If the odometer count message is deemed invalid by the IPC, the IPC defaults the odometer display to all dashes (-----). If a Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) becomes corrupted or if any Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) failure occurs, the message ERROR displays in the odometer display area.
