Rear Brake Pads: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
  2. Remove the brake caliper spring.

  3. Remove the caps.

  4. Remove the brake caliper guide pins and position aside the brake caliper.

    Torque: 21 lb.ft (28 Nm)

  5. NOTE: Note the position of each component before removal.
    NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

    Remove the brake pads.

  6. Retract the brake caliper pistons into the brake caliper bore. Use the General Equipment: Brake Caliper Piston Retractor
