Rear Brake Caliper: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
  2. NOTE: Make sure that no load is placed on the brake hose.

    Remove the brake hose bracket bolt, loosen the fitting and disconnect brake hose from the brake caliper.

    1. Push the brake caliper lever forward.
    2. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the brake caliper lever.
    3. Push inwards on the tabs, detach the parking brake cable from the brake caliper and position aside the parking brake cable.

  3. Remove the caps.

  4. Remove the brake caliper guide pins and the brake caliper.

    Torque: 21 lb.ft (28 Nm)

  5. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    Remove rear brake flexible hose. Refer to: Rear Brake Flexible Hose .
