Symptom Chart: Steering Column Switches

Symptom Chart 

Condition Possible Sources Actions
No power in all ignition switch positions Refer to Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test A 
No power in ACC Refer to Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test B 
No power in ON Refer to Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test C 
No power in START Refer to Pinpoint Test ATTEMPT to start the engine.
If the engine starts, RECHECK the ignition switch modes and DIAGNOSE the correct symptom.
If the engine does not start, DIAGNOSE the starting system. Refer to the appropriate Engine article for the procedure.
The ignition lock cylinder cannot be returned to the OFF position Refer to Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test D 
The ignition lock cylinder can be turned to the OFF position when the selector lever is not in PARK Refer to Pinpoint Test GO to Pinpoint Test E
