Side Curtain Airbag - Short Wheelbase Kombi: Removal

WARNING: The following procedure prescribes critical repair steps required for correct restraint system operation during a crash. Follow all notes and steps carefully. Failure to follow step instructions may result in incorrect operation of the restraint system and increases the risk of serious personal injury or death in a crash.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
Remove the headliner. Refer to: Headliner - Bus/Short Wheelbase, Vehicles With: Metal Roof Panel . Refer to: Headliner - Bus/Short Wheelbase, Vehicles With: Panoramic Roof Panel .
Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the pin-type retainer.

Remove the bolts.
Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

Lift the bracket retainer out of side panel and position the front of the side curtain aside.

1. Remove the bolt.
  Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
2. Remove the bolts.
  Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
3. Remove the bolt.
  Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
4. Slide and remove the side curtain airbag assembly.
