Brake Master Cylinder: Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- Remove the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray - 2.5L Duratec (125kW/170PS) .

NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.NOTE: Make sure that new nuts are installed.
- Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector.
- Release the couplings and disconnect the remote fluid reservoir tube and, if equipped, the clutch master cylinder tube.
- Disconnect the brake tube fittings.
- Remove the nuts and the brake master cylinder. Discard the nuts.
Torque:
1: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
2: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new master cylinder.
Remove the brake fluid reservoir. Refer to: Brake Fluid Reservoir .
