Pinpoint Test D : The Video Delay Or Guidelines Are Inoperative: Notes
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The fixed and active guidelines are generated by the rear parking aid camera. The active guidelines rely on the steering angle message from the SASM over the HS-CAN and MS-CAN. The video delay is based on the selector lever position and controlled by the FCDIM (vehicles with a 4.2 inch (107 mm) centerstack infotainment display) or the APIM (vehicles with a touchscreen centerstack infotainment display). Refer to: Parking Aid - System Operation and Component Description .
Possible Sources
- Rear parking aid camera
- SASM concern
- BCM concern
- Liftgate or rear cargo door switch concern
- APIM concern (vehicles with a touchscreen centerstack infotainment display)
- FCDIM concern (vehicles with a 4.2 inch (107 mm) centerstack infotainment display)
- Interior auto-dimming mirror (vehicles equipped with a rear video display in the mirror)
Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-Checks
- If the rear parking aid camera is not configured after replacement, some video functions will be inoperative. Turn the ignition on for 5 minutes to allow the BCM/camera configuration to complete.
- For active guideline concerns, verify the concern was not caused by the steering wheel being in the straight ahead position. Active guidelines are not displayed unless the steering wheel is rotated.
- For vehicles with a touchscreen centerstack infotainment display, verify the inoperative feature is enabled in the settings menu. Refer to the Owner's Literature.
- When reversing with a trailer the screen does not display the lines.
