AA1 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

Ignition ON.

Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the Network Test.

Do both the SOBDMC and the GWM pass the Network Test?

Yes

GO to AA2

No	DIAGNOSE the no communication with the SOBDMC or GWM. REFER to: Communications Network - 2.0L Duratec - Hybrid (96kW/130PS) . Using a diagnostic scan tool, CLEAR the SOBDMC Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

AA2 RECHECK THE ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the ABS module self-test.

Clear the ABS module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

Ignition OFF.

Ignition ON.

Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the ABS module self-test.

Record the ABS module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

Is DTC U0293:00 retrieved again?

Yes

GO to AA3

No	The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. Using a diagnostic scan tool, CLEAR the SOBDMC Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

AA3 REVIEW THE RECORDED ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Review the previously recorded Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the ABS module self-test.
Was DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 recorded?

Yes For DTC U3003:16, GO to Pinpoint Test A For DTC U3003:17, GO to Pinpoint Test F

No GO to AA4

AA4 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the GWM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present in the GWM?

Yes DIAGNOSE the GWM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REFER to: Communications Network - 2.0L Duratec - Hybrid (96kW/130PS) .

No GO to AA5

AA5 CHECK THE SOBDMC (HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the SOBDMC KOEO self-test.

Are any battery voltage Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?

Yes	DIAGNOSE the SOBDMC Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REFER to: Electronic Engine Controls . Using a diagnostic scan tool, CLEAR the SOBDMC Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

GO to AA6

AA6 CHECK FOR OTHER CAUSES OF COMMUNICATION NETWORK CONCERN

NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration can be incorrectly set during the PMI or the PMI may not have been carried out.

Check the vehicle service history for recent service actions related to the SOBDMC or ABS module. If recent service history is found:
- verify the correct replacement module was installed.
  - HVBOM may be used to verify correct part fitment.
- verify the configuration of replacement module was correct.
  - re-configure the module using as-built data if prior configuration is suspect.
- verify the module was not obtained from a like vehicle and installed into customer vehicle.
  - return the swapped module to source vehicle and obtain new replacement module.

Operate the system and determine if the observable symptom is still present.

Is the observable symptom still present?

Yes

GO to AA7

No	The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been due to incorrect parts replacement procedures or incorrect module configuration.

AA7 CHECK FOR DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) U0293:XX SET IN OTHER MODULES

Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the self-test for all modules.

Retrieve and record the Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from all modules.

Is DTC U0293:xx set in 1 or more modules in addition to the ABS module?

Yes	CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new SOBDMC. REFER to: Powertrain Control Module (PCM) .

CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to: Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module . Using a diagnostic scan tool, CLEAR the SOBDMC Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
