Pinpoint Test S : C1029:00, C102B:00
- S1 INSPECT THE BRAKE SYSTEM FOR LEAKS OR DAMAGE
- Inspect the brake system for leaks.
Is any brake fluid leakage present?
Yes REPAIR brake system as necessary. No GO to S2 - S2 BLEED THE BRAKES
- Bleed the brake system. REFER to: Brake System Pressure Bleeding .
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC.
- Test drive the vehicle.
Is the concern still present
Yes GO to S3 No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by air in the brake system. - S3 MONITOR THE ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) PRIMARY AND SECONDARY CHANNEL PRESSURE PARAMETER IDENTIFICATIONS (PIDS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, monitor the following ABS module Parameter Identifications (PIDs):
- Left front brake pressure (LF_BRK_PRS)
- Right front brake pressure (RF_BRK_PRS)
- Firmly press the brake pedal and note the pressure displayed in each PID.
Are the primary and secondary channel pressures within 10% of each other?
Yes CLEAR the DTC, REPEAT the self-test. If DTC C1029:00 or C102B:00 returns, INSTALL a new HCU. REFER to: Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) . No CLEAR the DTC, REPEAT the self-test. If DTC C1029:00 or C102B:00 returns, INSTALL a new brake master cylinder. REFER to: Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) . - Using a diagnostic scan tool, monitor the following ABS module Parameter Identifications (PIDs):
