Hood Latch Release Cable: Removal

Left front cable 

1. Remove the front bumper cover. REFER to: Front Bumper Cover .
2. Remove the hood latch release cable junction block cover.
   1. Press the retaining tabs inward to release the hood latch release cable junction block cover.
   2. Remove the hood latch release cable junction block cover.

3. Release and position aside the rear and right hood latch release cables.
   1. Release rear hood latch release cable.
   2. Position aside the rear hood latch release cable.
   3. Release the right hood latch release cables.
   4. Position aside the right hood latch release cable.

4. Detach the left front hood latch release cable from the left front hood latch.
   1. Detach the left front hood latch release cable from the left front hood latch.
   2. Remove the left front hood latch release cable from the left front hood latch.
   3. Route the left front hood latch release cable through the core support.

5. Remove the left front hood latch release cable.

   Right front cable 

6. Remove the front bumper cover. REFER to: Front Bumper Cover .
7. Remove the right front hood latch release cable from the right front hood latch.
   1. Detach the right front hood latch release cable from the right front hood latch.
   2. Remove the right front hood latch release cable from the right front hood latch.
   3. Route the right front hood latch release cable through the core support.

9. Remove the hood latch release cable junction block cover.
   1. Press the retaining tabs inward to release the hood latch release cable junction block cover.

10. Detach and position aside the right hood latch release cable.
    1. Detach the right hood latch release cable.
    2. Position aside the right hood latch release cable.

11. Release the routing clip and remove the right hood latch release cable.

    Rear Cable

13. NOTE: Insert a 10mm 1/4 inch drive socket to release the clips.

    Remove the hood latch release handle.

    1. Release the hood latch release handle retaining clips.
    2. Remove the hood latch release handle.

18. Remove the bolts, hood latch release and disconnect the rear hood latch release cable.
    1. Remove the bolts and hood latch release.
    2. Disconnect the rear hood latch release cable.

19. Release the routing clips and route the hood latch release cable through the cowl.
    1. Release the routing clips.
    2. Route the rear hood latch release cable through the cowl.
