Instrument Panel Upper Section: Removal

All vehicles

   Remove both A-pillar trim panels. Refer to: A-Pillar Trim Panel

   Remove the retainers and the RH insulation panel.

   Both sides. Position the front door weatherstrip aside, release the clips and remove the RH instrument panel finish panel.

      Remove the glove compartment screws.

      Torque: 18 lb.in (2 Nm)

      Disconnect the electrical connectors.

   Depending on vehicle option content, remove the FCDIM or the FDIM. Refer to: Front Display Interface Module (FDIM) .

   Disconnect the electrical connectors, detach the wiring harness retainers and position the wiring harness aside.

   NOTE: To avoid damaging the upper section, the aid of an assistant is required to carry out this step.
   NOTE: Make sure that all electrical connectors, wiring and vent tubes are not hindered before removing the upper section or damage to the components may occur.
   NOTE: Install all the bolts finger tight before final tightening.

   With the help of an assistant. Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the pin type harness retainer, release the clips and remove the bolts and slide the instrument panel upper section rearward.

   Torque: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)

   NOTE: This step is only required if the ambient light sensor harness is not equipped with an in-line connector.

   With the help of an assistant. Pull the instrument panel upper section rearward and disconnect the ambient light sensor electrical connector, position ambient light sensor harness aside and remove the instrument panel upper section.
