Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) Unit: Installation

Install the VCT unit mounting bolt.

Remove the locking pin.

Apply beads of silicone sealant that are 4 mm (0.157 in) and 6 mm (0.236 in) as shown in the graphic below.

Apply beads of silicone sealant that are 4 mm (0.157 in) as shown in the graphic below.

  Torque: 1-2, M6x60: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

  Install the engine mount and the nuts.

  Torque: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)

  Install the engine mount bolts finger-tight.

Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  Turn until resistance is felt.

• 2.
  
  Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

Tighten the VCT unit bolt.

Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

Tighten the VCT unit bolt in 3 stages.

Torque:

Stage 1: 37 lb.ft (50 Nm)

Stage 2: 70 lb.ft (95 Nm)

Stage 3: 45 °

Install the crankshaft front seal. Refer to: Crankshaft Front Seal .

Torque: 16 lb.ft (22 Nm)

Torque:

1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

2: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

1. Refer to: Generator - 1.0L EcoBoost (90kW/120PS) .
2. Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner .
3. Refer to: Catalytic Converter .
4. Refer to: Intake Manifold .
5. Refer to: Valve Cover .

Remove the drain plug, drain engine oil and install drain plug. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment

Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Remove and discard the engine oil filter. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment

Material: Motorcraft ® SAE 5W-20 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil / XO-5W20-QSP (WSS-M2C945-A)

Torque: 128 lb.in (14.5 Nm)

Material: Motorcraft ® SAE 5W-20 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil / XO-5W20-QSP (WSS-M2C945-A)
