Removal And Installation: Radiator: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. 1.

    With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

  1. 2.

    Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .

  1. 3.

    Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud. Refer to: Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud .

  1. 4.

    Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

  1. 5.

    Remove the bolts and the support bracket.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  1. 6.

    Remove both headlamps. Refer to: Headlamp Assembly .

  1. 7.

    Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to: Front Bumper Cover .

  1. 8.

    Remove the push pins.

  1. 9.

    Disconnect the hood release cable and position it aside.

  1. 10.

    Unclip the degas bottle hose and position it aside.

  1. 11.

    1. 1.

      Position a safety stand under the front bumper. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands

    1. 2.

      Remove the bolts.

      Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  1. 12.

    1. 1.

      Remove the bolts.

      Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

    1. 2.

      Loosen the bolts 6 turns.

      Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  1. 13.

    NOTE: Use caution not to damage the wiring harness.

    Position the front structure forward.

  1. 14.

    NOTE: The component must be removed by hand, the use of tools is prohibited.

  1. 15.

    Position the cooling module from the front structure.

  1. 16.

    NOTE: Use caution not to over extend the lower radiator tabs.

    Unclip the lower tabs and lift the radiator upward while pressing down on the A/C condenser.
