Gearshift Cable Adjustment - 5-Speed Manual Transmission - B5/IB5

Adjustment 

• 1.
  
  Position the gearshift in N position.

  With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

• 3.
  
  Remove the shift cable access cover.

  Unlock the adjuster.

  Move the gearshift select cable back and forth and verify free motion.

  NOTE: By placing the gearshift lever into the 4th gear position, it locks the small lever into the N position.

  Position the gearshifter in 4th gear.

  Lock the adjuster.

  Install the shift cable access cover.

    Install the access hole cover.

  • 2.
    
    Install the gearshift housing assembly.
