Pinpoint Test B : A Virtual Gauge (Power Distribution, Tachometer Or Temperature) Is Inoperative: Notes
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
See Power Distribution, Tachometer, Temperature, Engine Oil Pressure, Engine Oil Temperature or Transmission Temperature Gauge. Refer to Information And Message Center .
Power Distribution
If the 4x4 range fault, 4x4 range selection, gear lever position, vehicle speed or wheel torque messages are missing for less than 5 seconds or if the IPC receives invalid torque data for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the display fill area in front of the front wheels and behind the rear wheels to the last setting based upon that last message received.
If the IPC does not receive the 4x4 range fault, 4x4 range selection, gear lever position, vehicle speed or wheel torque messages for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the display fill area in front of the front wheels and behind the rear wheels off
Tachometer
If the engine speed message is missing or invalid for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the tachometer to the last indication state, based upon the last message received. If the engine speed message is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the tachometer to 0 rpm.
Engine Temperature Gauge
If the engine coolant temperature or engine overheat mitigation active messages are missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the temperature gauge to the last indication state, based upon the last message received. If the engine coolant temperature or engine overheat mitigation active messages are missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the temperature gauge to the full hot position.
