Pinpoint Test Ar : The Engine Over-Temperature RECONFIGURABLE Telltale (RTT) Is Never Or Always On: Notes

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

See Engine Over-Temperature Reconfigurable Telltale (RTT). Refer to Information And Message Center .

NOTE: If DTC U0100:00 sets in the IPC, other observable symptoms can be an inoperative tachometer, speedometer or odometer.

If the IPC does not receive the engine coolant temperature and engine overheat mitigation active messages from the PCM for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the engine over-temperature Reconfigurable Telltale (RTT) to its last state (on or off) based on the last message received.

If the IPC does not receive the engine coolant temperature and engine overheat mitigation active messages from the PCM 5 seconds or longer, the IPC sets DTC U0100:00 and defaults the engine over-temperature Reconfigurable Telltale (RTT) on.
