The base IPC provides a single 2.3" LCD display screen. The optional mid-level IPC provides a single 4.2" LCD display screen. The optional high-level IPC provides dual RH and LH LCD screens. The single display screen clusters and the LH display screen (high-level IPC) contain the conventional message center information. The RH display screen (high-level IPC) displays multimedia information (audio, phone and navigation) as well as items such as vehicle direction and time. Informational Indicators/Warning Indicators
Informational indicators provide information to the driver of conditions that exist in the vehicle. Warning indicators provide information to the driver of conditions that could potentially cause personal injury or alter vehicle performance.
Reconfigurable Telltale (RTT) Indicators
Reconfigurable Telltale (RTT) indicators illuminate in the message center and replace the typical informational or warning indicator using the same iconic representation. When multiple warnings exist, the Reconfigurable Telltale (RTT) indicators cycle through each display until the condition has been corrected unless the Reconfigurable Telltale (RTT) indicator is in a fixed position.
Network Messaged Inputs
Module messaging has increased over time and is now the standard for sending and receiving information required to operate the IPC. The majority of the inputs required to operate the IPC are received over the HS-CAN.
Hardwired Inputs
The IPC requires hardwired inputs from components that are not hardwired to other modules and, therefore, are not on the HS-CAN but are required for specific IPC functions.
The hardwired inputs are provided by the following components:
- Fuel pump assembly
- Hill descent switch
- Park detect switch
- Traction control disable switch
- Washer fluid level switch
