Pinpoint Test H : DTC B1B52:12 Or DTC B1B52:14
NOTE:
Before disconnecting the PAM or the speaker, verify that the connectors are properly seated and latched.
- H1 CHECK THE SPEAKER CONNECTOR FOR CORRECT LATCHING
- Ignition OFF.
- Inspect the rear parkng aid speaker connector C4362 for correct latching by pulling on the latched connector.
Is the connector latched?
Yes GO to H2. No Correctly latch the connector. - H2 MEASURE THE PARKING AID SPEAKER RESISTANCE
- Disconnect: Rear Parking Aid Speaker C4362 .
Is the resistance between 40 and 60 ohms?
Yes If DTC B1B52:14 was recorded, GO to H3.If DTC B1B52:12 was recorded, GO to H6. No INSTALL a new rear parking aid speaker. REFER to Parking Aid Speaker . - H3 CHECK THE REAR PARKING AID SPEAKER CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect: PAM C4014A .
Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to H4. No REPAIR the circuit in question. - H4 CHECK THE REAR PARKING AID SPEAKER CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to H5. No REPAIR the circuit in question. - H5 CHECK THE REAR PARKING AID SPEAKER CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TOGETHER
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to H7. No REPAIR the circuits. - H6 CHECK THE PARKING AID SPEAKER CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Disconnect: PAM C4014A .
- Ignition ON.
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the circuit in question. No GO to H7. - H7 CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect the PAM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the PAM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new PAM. REFER to Parking Aid Module (PAM) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
