Pinpoint Test E : B10D7:05

NOTE: This pinpoint test may require a second passive key. If only one key is available, a second passive key must be obtained.

  1. E1 REVIEW THE RFA MODULE DTCs FROM THE ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST

    • Review the RFA module DTCs from the on-demand self-test.

    Are any other RFA module DTCs present? 

    Yes  DIAGNOSE all other RFA module DTCs first. REFER to the RFA Module DTC Chart .
    No  GO to  E2.
  2. E2 CHECK THE PASSIVE KEYS

    • Verify the correct passive keys are used with the vehicle.

    Are the correct keys used? 

    Yes  ATTEMPT to program the key again. REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment .If the key programming fails, GO to  E3.
    No  OBTAIN the correct key(s) for the vehicle. PROGRAM the new key(s). REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment .
  3. E3 CHECK BOTH PASSIVE KEYS

    NOTE: At least 2 passive keys must be present to carry out this pinpoint test step.

    • After both passive keys have been programmed, attempt to start the vehicle with each passive key (one key inside the vehicle at a time).

    Does the vehicle start with only one passive key? 

    Yes  REPLACE the passive key that did not program. PROGRAM the new passive key. REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment .
    No  If the vehicle started with both passive keys, the vehicle is operating correctly. The concern was cause by an unprogrammed passive key. If neither passive key starts the vehicle, INSTALL a new backup transceiver. REFER to Backup Transceiver . PROGRAM the passive keys. REFER to Key Programming - Erase All Key Codes and Program Two Keys .
