Component Description: BCM

The BCM is responsible for checking the identifications from both the RFA module and the PCM. It also controls the ignition states and determines if the vehicle should be started or turned off depending upon input from the ignition and stoplamp switches and if a valid programmed passive key is inside the vehicle. The RFA module sends a MS-CAN message to the BCM communicating the indicating if a valid programmed passive key is inside the vehicle.

If the BCM is replaced, the parameter reset procedures between the BCM and the RFA module and between the BCM and the PCM must be carried out.
