Turbocharger - LH: Installation
- 2.NOTE: Apply high temperature nickel anti-seize lubricant to the turbocharger exhaust adapter studbolt threads prior to the installation of the turbocharger exhaust adapter. Material: Motorcraft ® High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant XL-2.
Install the turbocharger exhaust adapter and the new turbocharger exhaust adapter studbolts and tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

Inspect the turbocharger coolant tube-to-turbocharger fittings and replace as needed. Tighten to 18 Nm (159 lb-in).
- 5.
Place the turbocharger in the vehicle. Connect the turbocharger coolant tube to the turbocharger fitting.
- 6.
Inspect the turbocharger coolant supply tube-to-engine block fitting and replace as needed. Tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
- 7.NOTE: Align catalytic converter pipe flange to the turbocharger adapter while installing the turbocharger.
Install the new turbocharger mounting bolts, install the turbocharger coolant supply tube to the block fitting while installing the turbocharger. Tighten the new turbocharger mounting bolts to 32 Nm (24 lb-ft).

Install the turbocharger oil tube assembly upper bolts finger tight at the turbocharger.- 1.
Tighten the outer turbocharger oil tube bolt to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- 2.
Tighten the inner turbocharger oil tube bolt in the following 2 stages.- Stage 1: Tighten the inner turbocharger oil tube bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten the inner turbocharger oil tube bolt an additional 30 degrees.
- 3.
Tighten the outer turbocharger oil tube bolt in the following 2 stages.- Stage 1: Tighten the outer turbocharger oil tube bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten the outer turbocharger oil tube bolt an additional 30 degrees.

Install the turbocharger coolant supply tube and the turbocharger oil feed tube bolt. Tighten the coolant supply tube and turbocharger oil feed tube bolt in the following 2 stages.- Stage 1: Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten an additional 30 degrees.
- 13.NOTE: Install the new catalytic converter adapter nuts finger tight.
Evenly tighten the new catalytic converter adapter nuts to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

Install the turbocharger outlet tube, install the turbocharger outlet tube into the retaining clamp and insert the turbocharger outlet tube into the turbocharger outlet tube bracket grommet. Tighten the turbocharger outlet tube clamps to 5.0 Nm (44 lb-in).

Install the turbocharger inlet tube and insert the turbocharger inlet tube into the turbocharger inlet tube bracket grommet.

Tighten the turbocharger inlet tube clamp to 5.0 Nm (44 lb-in).

Connect the quick connect couplings and connect the turbocharger bypass tube, refer to Fuel System General Information .

Connect the PCV pressure sensor electric connector.
- 2.
Connect the PCV tube quick connect couplings, refer to Fuel System General Information .

Install the Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe, refer to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering .
- 19.
Install the LF Fender Splash Shield, refer to Front End Body Panels .
- 20.
Install the LF tire, refer to Wheels and Tires .
- 23.
Fill and bleed the cooling system, refer to Engine Cooling .
