Pinpoint Test B : A Virtual Gauge Is Inoperative: Notes

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

See Accessory Power Gauge, Brake Coach Gauge, High Voltage Battery Gauge, Integrated Power Gauge, Split Power Gauge and Tachometer. REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).

Accessory Power Gauge

If the climate control power usage or accessory power usage data messages are missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the climate or accessory (other) portion of the accessory power gauge to the last indication state, based upon the last message received.

If the climate control power usage or accessory power usage data messages are missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the climate or accessory (other) portion of the accessory power gauge to 0.

Brake Coach Gauge

If the charge/discharge display, the brake event data, or the regen event level data message is missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the brake coach gauge to the last indication state, based upon the last message received.

If the charge/discharge display, the brake event data, or the regen event level data message is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the regeneration (circular) arrows off in the regenerative braking active display or the brake event feedback display off in brake coach gauge.

High Voltage Battery Gauge

If the battery state of charge data, the charge/discharge display, the regen active display or hybrid mode status display message is missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the high voltage battery gauge to the last indication state, based upon the last message received.

If the battery state of charge data, the charge/discharge display, the regen active display or hybrid mode status display message is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the high voltage gauge to the last indication state, based upon the last message received.

Integrated Power Gauge

If the driver requested power, threshold power display on/off request, threshold power level or engine active status message is missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the integrated power gauge to the last indication state, based upon the last message received.

If the driver requested power, threshold power display on/off request, threshold power level or engine active status message is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the integrated power gauge to the last indication state, based upon the last message received. If the GPS enhances electric vehicle mode message is missing or invalid for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the electric vehicle (EV) mode indicator portion of the display off.

Split Power Gauge

If the battery power level display, engine active status or engine power level data message is missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the split power gauge to the last indication state, based upon the last message received.

If the battery power level display, engine active status or engine power level data message is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the split power gauge to the left stop or 0.

Tachometer

If the engine rpm data message is missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the tachometer to the last indication state, based upon the last message received.

If the engine rpm data message is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the tachometer to 0 rpm.
