- G1 CHECK THE PARKING AID MODULE (PAM) CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the Parking Aid Module (PAM) self-test.
Are any Parking Aid Module (PAM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes REFER to the Parking Aid Module DTC chart in this section. No GO to G2 - G2 CHECK THE PSCM (POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE) CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PSCM self-test.
Are any PSCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes REFER to: Power Steering . No GO to G3 - G3 CHECK THE SASM (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR MODULE) CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the SASM self-test.
Are any SASM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes REFER to: Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control . No GO to G4 - G4 CHECK THE ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the ABS module self-test.
Are any ABS module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes REFER to: Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control . No GO to G5 - G5 CHECK THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCM self-test.
Are any PCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes REFER to: Electronic Engine Controls - Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). No GO to G6 - G6 CHECK THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any IPC Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes REFER to: Instrumentation, Message Center and Warning Chimes No GO to G7 - G7 CHECK FOR CORRECT PARKING AID MODULE (PAM) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all Parking Aid Module (PAM) connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the Parking Aid Module (PAM) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new Parking Aid Module (PAM).REFER to: Parking Assist Control Module (PAM) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
