RTT Indicators
BLIS Off
The IPC provides the BLIS RTT to inform the driver the BLIS is turned off. The IPC receives the BLIS on message from the BCM over the MS-CAN. The BCM receives the BLIS on message status message from the SODL over the extended MS-CAN.
Charge Cord Connected (PHEV)
The IPC provides the charge cord connected RTT indiator to indicate the charge cord is still connected. Depending on the PCM software, the vehicle may be prevented from entering ready to drive mode. If a fault condition exists in the system, the IPC defaults the charge cord connected RTT indiator on.
The IPC receives the check plug to start display request and the charge cord connection status messages from the GWM over the I-CAN. The GWM receives the check plug to start display request and the charge cord connection status messages from the SOBDMC over the HEV - CAN.
Cruise Control/ACC
The IPC uses cruise control status and cruise control set speed messaged inputs to control the cruise control RTT indiator. The IPC receives the cruise control messages from the BCM over the MS-CAN. The BCM receives the cruise control status and cruise control set speed messages from the PCM over the HEV - CAN.
Door/Liftgate Ajar
The IPC provides the door/liftgate ajar RTT indicator to indicate the status of the doors or liftgate. The BCM monitors each of the ajar inputs and sends a door status message to the IPC over the MS-CAN to display the specific door/liftgate ajar RTT indicator.
ECO Mode (Except PHEV)
The IPC provides the ECO mode RTT to inform the driver that ECO mode is selected on. The IPC receives the econometer message from the BCM over the MS-CAN. The BCM receives the econometer message from the PCM over the HS-CAN.
Electric Vehicle (EV)
The IPC provides the electric vehicle (EV) RTT indicator to indicate the current electric vehicle mode to the driver.
The IPC uses 2 messaged inputs to control the electric vehicle (EV) RTT indicator. The IPC receives all messages required to operate the electric vehicle (EV) RTT from the GWM over the I-CAN.
The GWM receives the hybrid mode status display and the hybrid mode message request messages from the SOBDMC over the HEV - HS-CAN.
The GWM receives the battery state of charge data from the BECM over the HS-CAN.
Engine/Motor Over-Temperature
The IPC provides an RTT indicator to alert the driver that the engine or motor is over-temperature. The IPC uses the following messages to control the engine over-temperature RTT indicator.
- Engine coolant temperature data
- Engine overheat indication request
- HVAC heater core temperature
The IPC uses the motor over-temperature display request message to control the motor over-temperature RTT warning indicator.
The IPC receives the engine coolant temperature data message from the BCM over the MS-CAN. The BCM receives the engine coolant temperature data message from the GWM over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN). The GWM receives the engine coolant temperature data message from the PCM over the HEV - CAN.
The IPC receives the HVAC heater core temperature message from the GWM over the MS-CAN. The GWM receives the HVAC heater core temperature message from the PCM over the HEV - CAN.
The IPC receives the engine overheat indication request message from the GWM over the I-CAN. The GWM receives the engine overheat indication request from the PCM over the HEV - CAN.
The IPC receives the motor over-temperature display request message from the GWM over the I-CAN. The GWM receives the motor over-temperature display request message from the SOBDMC over the HEV - CAN.
Grade Assist
The IPC provides a grade assist RTT indiator to indicate the vehicle is in grade assist mode. The IPC receives the transmission shift mode message from the BCM over the MS-CAN. The BCM receives the transmission shift mode message from the GWM over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN). The GWM receives the transmission shift mode message from the PCM over the HEV - CAN.
Hazard (Stop Safely)
The IPC provides a hazard RTT indiator in the form of a triangle to inform the driver that a transmission hazard may exist and a powertrain shutdown may be imminent or may have already occurred. The IPC uses the battery warning indicator request and the transmission warning indicator request messages to control the hazard RTT indiator.
The IPC receives the battery warning indicator request and the transmission warning indicator request messages from the GWM over the MS-CAN.
The GWM receives the transmission warning indicator request message from the SOBDMC over the HEV - CAN.
The GWM receives the battery warning indicator request message from the BECM over the HEV - CAN.
Low Fuel
To supplement the fuel gauge indication, the IPC provides a low fuel RTT warning indicator. When the fuel level reaches 6 liters (1.6 gallons) (except MyKey ®), and 9 liters (2.4 gallons) (with MyKey ®), the IPC illuminates the low fuel RTT warning indicator. The low fuel RTT indiator input is the same hardwired input used for the fuel gauge.
Low Oil Pressure
The engine oil pressure switch is hardwired to the PCM. The PCM provides the oil pressure warning and engine rpm data messages to the BCM over the HEV - CAN. The IPC receives the oil pressure warning and engine rpm data messages from the BCM over the MS-CAN. The IPC requires engine rpm above 500 rpm before the message center displays the low oil pressure RTT indiator.
Powertrain Malfunction (Wrench)
The IPC provides a powertrain malfunction (wrench) RTT indiator to indicate multiple system concerns. The IPC uses inputs from the following systems to control the powertrain malfunction (wrench) RTT indiator.
- Battery charger concerns
- Engine (Electronic Throttle Control [ETC])
- High voltage battery
- Transmission
The IPC receives the battery charger service required message from the GWM over the MS-CAN. The GWM receives the battery charger service required message from the SOBDM over the HEV - CAN.
The IPC receives the engine service required message from the BCM over the MS-CAN. The BCM receives the engine service required message from the GWM over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN). The GWM receives the engine service required message from the PCM over the HEV - CAN.
The IPC receives the battery service required message from the GWM over the MS-CAN. The GWM receives the battery service required message from the BECM over the HEV - CAN.
The IPC receives the transmission service required message from the GWM over the MS-CAN. The GWM receives the transmission service required message from SOBDMC over the HEV - CAN.
Ready To Drive
The IPC provides a ready to drive RTT indiator, which is a redundant indication to the ready to drive indicator. The ready to drive RTT indiator is displayed under 2 conditions. The first condition is when the vehicle is placed in START and can be reset or may time out. The second condition is when the vehicle is in START and the driver door is opened. The second condition is also accompanied by a single tone chime.
The IPC receives the ready to drive request message from the GWM over the I-CAN. The GWM receives the ready to drive request message from the SOBDMC over the HEV - CAN
