Pinpoint Test B : B1B57:11

  1. B1 CHECK THE FRONT BUMPER WIRING HARNESS

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Inspect the front bumper wiring harness for opens, shorts, grounds, or corrosion.

    Is the front bumper wiring harness OK? 

    Yes  GO to  B2
    No  REPAIR or INSTALL a new bumper wiring harness.
  2. B2 CHECK THE LH (LEFT-HAND) FRONT OUTER PARKING AID SENSOR FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT

    • Disconnect: LH Front Outer Parking Aid Sensor.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test.

    Is DTC B1B57:11 still present? 

    Yes  GO to  B3
    No  INSTALL a new LH front outer parking aid sensor. REFER to: Front Parking Aid Sensor .
  3. B3 CHECK THE LH (LEFT-HAND) FRONT INNER PARKING AID SENSOR FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: LH Front Inner Parking Aid Sensor.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test.

    Is DTC B1B57:11 still present? 

    Yes  If the vehicle is equipped with active park assist, GO to  B4. If the vehicle is NOT equipped with active park assist, GO to  B6.
    No  INSTALL a new LH front inner parking aid sensor. REFER to: Front Parking Aid Sensor .
  4. B4 CHECK THE LH (LEFT-HAND) FRONT ACTIVE PARK ASSIST SENSOR FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: LH Front Active Park Assist Sensor.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test.

    Is DTC B1B57:11 still present? 

    Yes  GO to  B5
    No  INSTALL a new LH front active park assist sensor. REFER to: Front Active Park Assist Sensors - Vehicles With: Active Park Assist.
  5. B5 CHECK THE RH (RIGHT-HAND) FRONT ACTIVE PARK ASSIST SENSOR FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: RH Front Active Park Assist Sensor.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test.

    Is DTC B1B57:11 still present? 

    Yes  GO to  B6
    No  INSTALL a new RH front active park assist sensor. REFER to: Front Active Park Assist Sensors - Vehicles With: Active Park Assist.
  6. B6 CHECK THE RH (RIGHT-HAND) FRONT INNER PARKING AID SENSOR FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: RH Front Inner Parking Aid Sensor.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test.

    Is DTC B1B57:11 still present? 

    Yes  GO to  B7
    No  INSTALL a new RH front inner parking aid sensor. REFER to: Front Parking Aid Sensor .
  7. B7 CHECK THE RH (RIGHT-HAND) FRONT OUTER PARKING AID SENSOR FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: RH Front Outer Parking Aid Sensor.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test.

    Is DTC B1B57:11 still present? 

    Yes  GO to  B8
    No  INSTALL a new RH front outer parking aid sensor. REFER to: Front Parking Aid Sensor .
  8. B8 CHECK THE PARKING AID SENSOR VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: BCM C2280C.
    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead

      Ground

    Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms? 

    Yes  GO to  B9
    No  REPAIR the circuit.
  9. B9 CHECK THE PARKING AID SENSOR VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT AND GROUND CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TOGETHER

    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead

    Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms? 

    Yes  GO to  B10
    No  REPAIR the circuits.
  10. B10 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors.
    • Repair:
      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    • Reconnect the BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
    • Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present? 

    Yes  CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, Refer to BCM Hardware Testing (Except Hybrid/Energi) .
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
