Power Door Window Initialization

Initialization

NOTE: Initialization is required to learn both the full UP and full DOWN positions and the profile of the glass as it travels through the glass channel. Once initialized, obstacle detection is enabled.

1.

NOTE: This procedure must be completed from the master window control switch only.

NOTE: Make sure that the window runs are correctly installed and free of foreign material.

NOTE: A new door module or de-initialized window does not operate in one-touch up mode until it has been initialized.

Turn the ignition ON.

2.

NOTE: The following steps de-initialize the window (door module). If a new door module has been installed, proceed to Step 6.

NOTE: The master window control switch has a manual detent and an automatic (second) detent for each of the up and down positions. The first detent (manual) can be felt and is approximately 1/2 of the switch travel while the automatic detent is full switch travel.

Activate the window control switch in the UP position until the window reaches the full up position and release the window control switch.

Activate the window control switch in the DOWN (automatic detent) position and release the switch.

4.

Once the window is fully down, carefully activate and hold the window control switch in the DOWN (manual detent) position for 10 seconds, release the switch and immediately activate the switch momentarily in the DOWN (automatic detent) position and release.

5.

Verify the window one-touch up operation does not function to determine if de-initialization was successful. If the one-touch up operation still functions normally, repeat steps 2 through 5.

6.

Place the window in the full down position.

WARNING: Keep objects and body parts clear of the glass panel when carrying out the initialization procedure. During the initialization procedure, the glass panel closes with high force and cannot detect objects in its path. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Activate and hold the window control switch in the UP position at the second detent until the window glass stalls for at least 3 seconds into the glass top run and release the switch.

8.

Activate and hold the window control switch in the DOWN position at the second detent until the window glass stalls for at least 3 seconds at the bottom of its travel and release the switch.

9.

Test for correct window operation by carrying out the one-touch down and one-touch up features.

Initialization

1.

NOTE: Make sure that the window runs are correctly installed and free of foreign material.

Start the engine.

3.

Lift and hold the window control switch until the door window is fully closed.

4.

Release the window control switch.

5.

Lift and hold the window control switch again for at least one second.

6.

Press and hold the window control switch until the door window is fully open.

7.

Release the window control switch.

8.

Lift and hold the window control switch until the window is fully closed.

9.

Test for correct window operation by carrying out the one-touch down and one-touch up features.
