Install gearshift cable mounting bracket.

Install the nuts.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

  Install the exhaust heat shield and nuts.
- 2.
  
  Install the center support brace and nuts.
  Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Install the exhaust tailpipe isolator.

Install the new muffler gasket.

Install the muffler isolator and the muffler mounting nuts.
Torque: 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)

- Slide the lock sleeve and install the gearshift cables in the bracket.
- Connect the gearshift cable ends to the ball studs of the transmission selector mechanism.

Install the gearshift housing access cover.

Install the retainers and the under body shield.

Install the gearshift cables in the retainer.

- Connect the gearshift cable ends to the gearshift lever ball studs.

Adjust the gearshift cables. Refer to: Gearshift Cable Adjustment - 5-Speed Manual Transmission - B5/IB5 .
