Gearshift Cables - 1.0L EcoBoost (90kW/120PS), 5-Speed Manual Transmission - B5A/5-Speed Manual Transmission - B5/IB5: Removal

1.

Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .

2.

Remove the gearshift cables from the bracket.
- 1.
  
  Press the retainer down.
- 2.
  
  While holding the retainer down, slide the cable clip from the bracket.

With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

4.

Remove the gearshift housing access cover.

- Disconnect the gearshift cable ends from the ball studs of the transmission selector mechanism.
- Slide the lock sleeve and remove the gearshift cables from the bracket.

Remove and discard the muffler mounting nuts.

Remove and discard the muffler gasket.

  Remove the nuts and the center support brace.
- 2.
  
  Remove the exhaust isolator.
- 3.
  
  Remove the nuts and position aside the exhaust heat shield.

Remove the nuts.

Remove the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console .

11.
- Disconnect the gearshift cable ends from the ball studs of the gearshift lever.
- Slide the lock sleeve and remove the gearshift cables from the gearshift lever base.

Release the retainers and remove gearshift cable mounting bracket.
