Degas Bottle: Removal

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- 1.WARNING: When releasing the cooling system pressure, cover the coolant expansion tank cap with a thick cloth.
Release the cooling system pressure by slowly turning the coolant expansion tank cap between 2 and 3 turns.
- 2.NOTE: Make sure that no strain is placed on the refrigerant lines.
Remove the nut and position the A/C compressor inlet line aside.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Using general tools clamp the lower expansion tank hose and syphon the engine coolant from the expansion tank. Use the General Equipment: Fluid Suction Gun Use the General Equipment: Locking Pliers

- Depress the tabs and disconnect the upper coolant tubes.
- Release the clamp and disconnect the lower coolant hose.
- Release the tabs and remove the degas bottle.
